@theconfigurator @chriscoyier I prefer a simple placeholder, grey or dominant color of the image. Blurred looks like an image so get the attention, but is useless after all, so it's frustrating. Even more when the actual image doesn't load as fast as I scroll to read. One of the many reasons I hate Medium.
