There are now pages on my photography site about the cameras and lenses I used to shoot the photos you can see: nicolas-hoizey.photo/gear/ Data are extracted from the photos' EXIF, and pages are still generated with @eleven_ty! 😍 nicolas-hoizey.com/notes/2022/10/22/1/

Do you know any free listing of Make and Model EXIF data that camera manufacturer use, with "cleaned" names? This is a mess, without any standardisation. 😕

For example, for Konica's KD-400Z (my first digital camera, 20 years ago): nicolas-hoizey.photo/gear/konica/kd-400z/ Make: Konica Corporation Model: Konica Digital Camera KD-400Z Why is there "Konica" twice? 🤨 And there "Canon" in both Make and Model for all I've had 🤷♂️ nicolas-hoizey.photo/gear/canon/

So I had to build a listing of all Make/Model EXIF data I have in my photos, and define better brand and model names… 🤷♂️ github.com/nhoizey/nicolas-hoizey.photo/blob/main/_scripts/sync-photos.js#L27-L121 I'm wondering if it's a known issue, and if there's an existing database of "good" names.

There's allphotolenses.com/ for lenses, but I wonder if it's relevant, with such an "item" in their marketplace… 🤨

@eleven_ty I must add that I don’t own, or not anymore, all these gear. I try to control my G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome)! 😅 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shopping_addiction#Gear_Acquisition_Syndrome_(G.A.S.)
